Gun-Hilt Tegh Sword 2

Gun-Hilt Tegh

Overall length 85cm

Blade length 72cm

Width of blade at base: 6mm

Date: Early 19th Century

Origin: India

A gun-hilt tegh sword with a wootz blade; the hilt has a finger guard. The blade possesses a very sharp edge; no dinks or damage. The original edge remains. Spine is of good width, strong and sturdy. The top 10cm of the blade has a false edge which appears to have been sharpened at some point. The hilt is of the "gun-hilt" form; this allows for exceptionally deep cuts and more precise handling. The sword sits very well in the hand. The sword handles immaculately as do all weapons sold at www.shastaragar.com possessing fantastic balance. This sword has a sweeping action and is ideal for wielding in Garuda Yudhan in Sanatan Shastar Vidiya. There is minor surface pitting over the blade but the blade integrity is not compromised. An opportunity to own a true fighting piece.

A scabbard for the sword can be made on request. Please contact us on shastaragar@gmail.com to request a quote.

Note to customers: We are aiming to re-educate our customers who are seeking high quality fighting weapons. High end fighting swords are rarely embellished with gold / silver; they are designed to be highly functional and practical. It takes a Sanatan Shastar Vidiya practitioner to understand what qualifies as a top class, good, average, or bad weapon.

Customers outside the UK interested in purchasing our weapons are kindly requested to contact us directly to discuss available options and requirements.
